Join us to kick off the spring planting season with tips on how to plant a healthy garden that will produce plenty of bounty with preserving in mind.


Green thumb or not, there is something for everyone interested in gardening at this family-friendly event. Veggie planting tips from Plant a Row Grow a Row will be complemented with the how-to’s of home canning, featuring Bernardin’s Executive Chef, Emerie Brine. Among the handouts in the Bernardin bags will be veggie seeds provided by McKenzie Seeds, with compost demonstrations being offered by the compost team of IWMC, ADI International (PEI) Inc. and The Compost Council of Canada. Refreshments using recipes from the cookbook of L.M. Montgomery will be provided.

BC Shellfish Festival

B.C. Shellfish Festival - Friday, June 15 & Saturday, June 16

 The sixth annual B.C. Shellfish Festival takes place in Comox June 15 and 16. It's the largest festival of its kind on the WesCOast and is rich with fresh, local shellfish. The event kicks off on the Friday night with a gala, B.C. - wine-matched six-course dinner at Comox's historic Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park.

 

Bernardin is once again happy to be working with Ned Bell, Executive Chef with Four Season’s Vancouver.   Ned will be serving his famous clam chowder in a Bernardin jar.
